Jide is a company based in Beijing China that has made a 2-in-1 Android productivity device. The device is being funded on Kickstarter at this link. The previously lowest optional donations is $49 and you could get a Remix Tablet once it comes out! That is an amazing deal, $49 for a 2-in-1 that would normally cost $400+!
Unfortunately, the $49 donation was completely filled in under 24 hours once it started yesterday March 28. In fact, they had a 200 backer limit on that and it went past 300! I tried to get the $49 donation but my financial adviser (Dad) would not let me get it. There was also a $199 donation but that was also filled and now there is only $349, $3000, and $5000. The last two in the thousands, you get a roundtrip to Beijing to meet the developers and other stuff. The $5000 one you get every new product made by Jide for free.
Here are some pictures from the Kickstarter page:
It’s operating system is a “custom engineered” version of Google’s Android OS dubbed Remix OS. The operating system’s main driving point is it’s multitasking capabilities that allow you to have multiple windows and app switching on one screen. The keyboard looks nice, is detachable and can do commands like control+c to copy and other things. The hardware specs are listed here:
- 11.6″ 1920x1080p display
- CPU: Nvidia Tegra 4+1 A15 Processor 1.81 GHz
- GPU: Tegra GPU GeForce ULP72
- 2GB DDR3L RAM / 64GB eMMC internal storage, microSD slot up to 128GB
- 5mp front/back cameras
- 8100mAh duo charging system (can charge through magnet charger or microUSB). Can function as a power bank to charge up to three iPhones.
Overall, this is probably one of the better 2-in-1 devices I’ve seen for the price. There are some better 2-in-1’s but for hundreds more up into the 1000’s. Hope Jide make some new devices leaning more towards power though the Remix is very powerful. Thanks for reading, check back soon.
